Bourdais wins, the event draws a large crowd, but the track layout is too tight, and it has those nasty railroad tracks in the middle. Bumpy and no place to pass, the San Jose Mercury Writer is not impressed with the racing, while another local columnist, is optimistic it can be improved, and that the race as a whole ended up being succesfull.
