Colombia Bombshell JPM To NASCAR

TOTAL SHOCK MOVE Speed note here

I do not know what to make of this, as one friend said "I don't know whether to laugh or to cry."
Juan Pablo Montoya has just announced that he is signing with Chip Ganassi racing to run the #42 Car in NASCAR. JPM with 7 Formula One wins is still a top line F1 driver and changing over to NASCAR full-time is kind of strange.

Let me just initially say that JPM will probably do very well in NASCAR. And I say that because drivers coming from a traditional US open wheel background - with a premium on car control - have done exceptionally well in recent years, including Gordon, Stewart Kasey Kahne, and Ryan Newman. While JPM did not come from that background, he did exceptionally well in CART's ovals where some of those skills applied.
